Amateurs Battle At The Beach

Chinook Winds Resort and Casino of Lincoln City, Oregon hosted its annual amateur boxing night on Saturday, June 5, for a sold out house of enthusiastic fans. Organizing this meeting of teams from Oregon and Washington states, was Coach Jason Marquoit of the West Portland Boxing Club.

Results were as follows:

65lb, open 11 y/o–  Jimmy Doyle  of Tacoma won over Cruz Solano.

80lb, 12 y/o– Eric Estrada of Beaverton P.A.L. won over   Zac Landru of Portland.

132lb, open sr.–  Nick Jefferson of  Tacoma won over Corey Hill of Knott St  Boxing in Portland.

132 lb, open 14/15– Jose Lopez of Chief Cornerstone Boxing in Hillsboro, OR won over  Rafael Garcia of  Sea-Mar in  Seattle.

119 lb, open 15-16 y/o– Efrain Estrada of Beaverton P.A.L. won over   Lorenzo Caldera  of Portland. This was Caldera’s first loss in 27 bouts.

80lb, open 12y/o– Nathan Doyle of Tacoma won over Samuel Villalta of West Portland.

132lb, open sr– Junior Zurita of West Portland won over  Elijah Peters of Tacoma.

154lb, 15-16 y/o– Eric Knighton of Chief Cornerstone won over  Justin Mahoney of  Tacoma.

147lb, open sr–  Virgil Green of  Fisticuffs in Vancouver, WA won over  Tomas Aguilar of  Portland.

170lb, open sr–  Alex Cazac of  Grand Ave in Portland won over Oscar Hernandez of  West Portland.
