092311posteraCHICAGO, IL, September 5, 2011 — A sensational main event featuring light heavyweights Chicago’s Andrzej “The Polish Prince” Fonfara and Phil “The Drill” Williams of Minneapolis, has been announced for WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 19, Friday, September 23rd at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion.

Advance tickets, priced at $36 for reserved floor seats and $31 for general admission can be purchased in advance through Ticketmaster (, the UIC Pavilion Box Office, (phone 312-413-5740) and the 8 Count Productions Office (312-226-5800.)

Fighting in front of huge crowds from Chicago’s Polish Community at the UIC Pavilion, the 23-year-old Fonfara, 18-2-1 (9KO’s), is riding a six bout winning streak, most recently stopping Anthony Russell in the seventh round on May 20th to capture the WBO/NABO light heavyweight championship.

Against the battle-tested veteran Williams, Fonfara will face the toughest foe of his career. Sporting a record of 11-4-1 (10KO’s), the heavy handed Williams last two bouts against undefeated contender Caleb Traux have been two of the most talked about in the Minnesota area.

Battling twice in a total of twenty rounds, Williams fought with Traux to a draw and a majority decision loss in his last two bouts. Williams is also no stranger to Chicago having faced Donovan George in January 2010 at the UIC Pavilion.

“Williams is a very tough, strong fighter which will be a terrific test for Andrzej. Both guys are heavy handed with plenty of knockouts so fans will see fireworks from the opening bell” said Dominic Pesoli, President of 8 Count Productions.

In the co-main event at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 19, popular Chicago welterweight prospect Jaime “The Truth” Herrera, 6-1-0 (4KO’s) will challenge veteran Robert “The Wolf” Jones, 8-9-1 (3KO’s) of Ann Arbor, Michigan.

In a six round special feature attraction, hard-hitting Ukrainian middleweight prospect, Viktor Polyakov, 8-0-0 (6KO’s) will return to the Chicago fight scene for the first time since 2008 against an opponent to be announced.

WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 19 will also see four of Chicago’s finest newcomers in separate four round bouts, super bantamweight Sergio Montes De Oca, 4-1-0 (1KO), super bantamweight Juan Carlos Fernandez, 1-0-1, super featherweight Jeremias Correa, 2-0-0 (1KO) and pro debuting cruiserweight Dimur Ortuz.

Rounding out the card, Tacoma, Washington prospect Mike Gavronski, 2-0-1 (2KO’s), will see action in a four round super middleweight bout.
