First pro boxing card at Irish Cultural Centre Oct. 26 outside of Boston in Canton, Mass.

PROVIDENCE – Irish eyes will be smilin’ October 26 as the Irish Cultural Centre of New England, located just outside of Boston in Canton (MA), hosts its first professional boxing event – “Boxing Event Under The Tent” – on a special Saturday afternoon (2 p.m. / ET start) card, presented by Big Six Entertainment in association with Danny Kelly Promotions.
 
“We’re delighted to be promoting the first professional boxing show at the Irish Cultural Center,” Big Six Entertainment president Artie DePinho said.  “The Irish love a good fight and we have some good Irish prospects fighting on our card.  Big Six Entertainment is committed to bringing entertaining shows and action fighters to New England boxing fans.”
 
Providence (RI) light welterweight Diego Periera (8-0-1, 6 KOs) puts his unbeaten record on the line against Norwalk (CT) veteran Shaka Moore (11-19-3, 2 KOs) in the eight-round main event.
 
A pair of popular Irish imports now living in Boston, welterweight Michael McLaughlin (4-0-2, 1 KO) and middleweight John “Bancara Banger” Hutchinson (4-0-2, 1 KO) fight in separate six-round bouts against opponents to soon be determined.
 
Also slated to be fighting on the undercard in four-round matches are Pembroke (MA) cruiserweight Vinnie Carita (6-1, 6 KOs) vs. Brockton’s Houston Crayton (1-5), local favorite Gerard Schifone (1-0), of nearby Stoughton, vs. TBA, Dorchester heavyweight Donnie “The Big Nasty” Palmer (1-0-1, 1 KOs) vs. Lawrence’s (MA) pro-debuting Chyan Vasquez, Providence light middleweight Pubilo Pena (1-1, 1 KO) vs. TBA, and 2012 National PAL champion “Speedy” Rashidi Ellis (2-0, 1 KO), of Lynn (MA), vs. TBA. 
 
All fighters are subject to change.
