LOS ANGELES, CA, March 9, 2015 — This past Friday night in his native Rhone, France middleweight contender MICHEL SORO knocked out battle tested, Brazilian veteran ANDERSON CLAYTON in the second round of their scheduled eight rounder.

The 27-year-old Soro improved to 25-1-1 (15KO’s) while Clayton moved to 43-10-1 (37KO’s).

The early stoppage win was the second in a row for Soro, who had finished Sandor Micsko in the first stanza on January 30 also in Rhone, France.

Soro remains the mandatory challenger for the European Boxing Union’s Middleweight Belt recently vacated by Billy Joe Sauders. A ruling from the EBU in the near future will determine the next course of action for Soro and his team.

“I’m very happy with my performance, Clayton was a tough, durable opponent but my power was too much for him” said Soro. “I’m ready to fight again as soon as possible. I want to stay busy and continue excelling.”

“This is great news of Michel staying busy and taking care of business in the ring” said MICHAEL KING of KING SPORTS, his Los Angeles based promoter. While we’d like to have him fight for the vacant EBU title, we’re also looking at opportunities here in the United States.”

Soro made his debut in the United States on July 25, 2014 with a ten round majority decision draw against Antoine Douglas, which was telecast on Showtime.
