Three months removed from drawing one of the largest crowds to any combat sporting event in the State of Oregon in recent years, unbeaten Pacific Northwest Cruiserweight prospect “Irish” Mike Wilson will again return to his hometown of Central Point, Oregon Saturday, July 11th and try to do it once more. Fighting in the main event of White Delight Promotions’ “Rogue Valley Rumble II” at the Jackson County Expo Compton Arena, Wilson will take on journeyman Sharif Kemp. The card will be the second show for the newly formed promotional company headed by Jennifer Wilson, wife of Mike Wilson, and feature seven fights total.

This will be the second fight for Wilson (11-0, 5 KOs) since taking a two year sabbatical in 2013. Wilson, who was an amateur stand-out claiming the 2005 AIBA World Amateur Super Heavyweight title among other amateur championships, has remained unbeaten as a pro in eleven fights. He returned from his self-imposed hiatus last April, rolling through Kansas City’s Derek Williams in two rounds.  The rangy boxer-puncher hopes to add another impressive win against Georgia’s Sharif Kemp (8-6, 6 KOs).

Kemp’s last fight was a loss at the hands of undefeated prospect Ronson Frank in Queens, New York. He’s gone 1-1 in his last two fights. They will fight a scheduled ten rounds in the cruiserweight division.

Match-maker Tony Rodriguez, Jr. has lined up a six fight undercard with some promising match-ups featuring Northwest fighters.

Unbeaten heavyweight Javier Torres (6-0-2, 3 KOs) has been inactive for over a year and will look to get his career back on track when he takes on Yreka, California’s D.J. Linderman (0-1) in a four round bout. Torres resides in Long Beach, California, but his birthplace is Medford, Oregon.  His last bout was a four round draw against Rodney Hernadez in March of last year. Linderman, who fights in both mixed martial arts and boxing, has focused mainly on MMA over the past few years, building a record of 18-9. His last professional boxing match was a decision loss to Vincent Thompson.

Hillsboro, Oregon’s Gabe “Ducky” Pineda (4-1-2, 1 KO)  will look to rebound from his first loss, a split decision defeat to former Nigerian Olympian Rasheed Lawal last April, when he takes on the crafty Ricardo Maldonado (4-3), of Arlington, Washington. Both fighters are known in the Pacific Northwest as tough, skilled fighters, both having had a string of solid wins as pros before tasting defeat. Maldonado’s most recent fight was a unanimous decision loss to Andres Reyes last March. They will meet in a four round Super Lightweight bout.

In a very interesting stylistic match-up brimming with potential for a slugfest, Juan Jaramillo (8-12-2, 3 KOs), of Keizer, Oregon and Eugene’s Corben Page (5-10-1) will meet in a four round Super Lightweight fight. Both fighters may lack winning records, but they both have a fan-friendly, aggressive style and a propensity to engage. Records not with-standing, these two fighters are much better than their win-loss columns suggest and both have a reputation for making exciting fights.

Local favorite Rafael Valencia (2-0, 2KOs) will look to keep his two fight unbeaten knockout streak going against Billy McNeally. Valencia last fought in April, scoring an impressive first round stoppage of Cole Milani. McNeally will be making his professional debut.

Rounding out the card will be local slugger Randy Rogers (2-1, 1KO) taking on LaQuan Williams (0-1) in a four round Cruiserweight bout and Tigard, Oregon’s Benjamin “Dirty” Vinson (1-3, 1KO) taking on Medford’s Jose Cabrera (0-3) in a Lightweight four rounder.

Tickets to White Delight Promotions’ “Rogue Valley Rumble II” are now on sale at Hawaiian Hut in Central Point, Oregon and at Bobbio’s Pizza in both Central Point and Medford locations. General admission tickets are priced at $20 with ringside tables also available. Doors to the event open at 6 p.m. with the first fight scheduled to start at 7 p.m. The Jackson County Expo Compton Arena is located at 1 Peninger Rd, Central Point, OR 97502.  For more information visit or visit the White Delight Promotions Facebook page.
