One of Montana’s most promising professional hopefuls will look to continue his ten fight unbeaten streak this Friday, July 31st, at the Eagles Lodge in Helena, Montana. Local favorite Duran Caferro will defend the Montana State Welterweight title, taking on the challenge of St. Louis, Missouri’s Kelly Wright in the main event of H-Town Eagles Promotions’ eight bout Pro/Am show.

Caferro (12-1, 9 KOs), an amateur standout whose lone defeat came two fights into his pro career three years ago, has been on a roll since suffering his first setback, claiming ten straight wins, seven of those within the distance. In addition to holding the Welterweight title, Caferro added the Montana State Middleweight title last January with a unanimous decision win over long time regional stalwart Daniel Gonzalez. Caferro will attempt to make the second successful defense of the state’s 147 lbs. belt against journeyman Kelly Wright.

Wright (4-16) is an experienced fighter who has faced a number of well-known names, most notably going the distance with both Devon Alexander and Hugo Centeno, Jr. He will seek to add his first win in some time, though, having gone ten years without a victory.  Caferro and Wright will meet in a scheduled six rounder.

H-Town Eagles, who have been holding shows in the Helena area for two years now, have lined up a full undercard featuring two other pro bouts and five non-pro fights.

One of the pro bouts will feature the always durable Daniel Gonzalez, of Billings, in a four round Super Middleweight bout. Gonzalez (10-35-2, 3 KOs), who’s built a reputation as being a tough, all-action fighter, is coming off an eight round decision loss to Jesse Uhde for the Montana State Super Middleweight title in a war last February. He will square off with David Otis (0-1) of Bozeman, Montana.

The remaining professional bout will pit Spokane’s Jacob Slilasi against Belgrade’s Brandon Little Coyote in a Jr. Middleweight four rounder. Both fighters will be making their pro debuts.

Five non-pro bouts will round out the undercard featuring at least one women’s bout.

The event will be held outdoors with doors opening at 6pm and the first fight set to start at 7pm. Tickets to the card can be purchased at Eagles Lodge #16, Lucky Dog Casino, Great Ape Crepes, and Bowser’s and are priced at a very reasonable $20 for general admission with tables also available. The Eagles Lodge is located at 801 N. Fee Street, Helena, MT.
