CHICAGO, July 25, 2014 – In tonight’s night’s 10-round welterweight main event at the UIC Pavilion, Roberto “La Amenaza” Garcia (35-3, 23 KOs) of Weslaco, Texas, takes on hard-hitting and dangerous Breidis “Khanqueror” Prescott (27-5, 20 KOs) of Miami, via Barranquilla, Colombia.

CHICAGO, May 29, 2009 – It’s a bitter fact of life that despite appearances to the contrary, in the end, some people simply get the better of you.

Jaime Sandoval, kid brother of former two-division boxing champion Jesus Chavez, now had the full attention of his older sibling in his corner, bringing his experience and know-how to bear on the man across the ring.  At 5’ 9”, Sandoval was bigger, stronger and, doggone it, better looking than his opponent Juan Carlos Martinez, who stood a sprightly 5’ 7”.    (continue reading…)

CHICAGO — At 5’ 9” and 135 lbs., lanky lightweight boxer Jaime “Superfly” Sandoval physically towers over his older brother, Jesus “El Matador” Chavez, a former two division world champion who casts a pretty long shadow, himself.

Chavez held the World Boxing Council Super Featherweight and the International Boxing Federation Lightweight titles.  He faced such legends as Erik Morales and Floyd Mayweather, Jr. –- not to mention the likes of such ex-champs as Tom Johnson, Troy Dorsey, Julio Diaz and Levander Johnson –- in compiling a record of 44 wins with five losses and 33 knockouts.  Short with a rugged, brawling style, his bruising game of attrition does not translate well to Jaime’s frame and stature, which does better at longer range.  (continue reading…)
