Chicago Boxers’ Reunion a Smash!

This past Friday, on August 19th at Bourbon Street in south suburban Chicago, I had the pleasure of attending the 2nd annual Chicago Boxer’s Reunion. And let me tell ya, I was like a kid in a friggin’ candy store.

This reunion was not ‘fighter inclusive’. It was open to the official, the writer and most of all, the fan. It was just as well, as I did not have the lengthy career some of these stalwarts of pug-alley experienced. However, they made me feel as welcome as a unanimous decision in their favor. Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame: 2015 Inductees to be Honored at 1st Annual Banquet on Nov. 14th!

CHICAGO —  Mike McNamara, the Director of the Illinois Boxing Hall of Fame, has announced the Hall’s 2015 class of inductees, whom will be read into the Hall Saturday November 14 at the Hall’s First Annual Banquet and Ceremony at Abbington Banquets, 3S002 IL-53, Glen Ellyn, IL 60137 near Butterfield Road and Route 53.

The Hall, in its first year, is an outgrowth of the successful 12-year-old Illinois Martial Arts Hall of Fame. McNamara, an accomplished kickboxer, tournament fighter, and trainer of former ISKA World Cruiserweight Kickboxing Champion Rob Salazar, is also Director of the Martial Arts Hall.
