Unbeaten cruiserweight prospect Mike “White Delight” Wilson (16-0, 7 KOs) added another win to his unblemished record on Friday night at the Jackson County Expo in his hometown of Central Point, Oregon, turning in a dominant eight round performance, beating Oklahoma’s Aaron Chavers by unanimous decision in the main event of White Delight Promotions’ “Rogue Valley Rumble” 6.

Wilson employed a work-man like approach from the start, moving well and working off his jab to set up his heavier arsenal. As the fight wore on, Wilson picked up his output and began to land more consistently with hard combinations, focusing a lot of his attention to his opponent’s body. Digging deep with thudding hooks to the mid-section, Wilson frequently found success with body work before working his way back to the head. Chavers was a game fighter, but Wilson showed superior skills throughout the fight, controlling the action and racking up points with the more effective offense. All three judges scored the fight 80-72, giving Wilson his sixteenth win and his sixth straight in front of his local fans. (continue reading…)

Bissett, who aside from having eighteen professional bouts under his belt also had extensive amateur career, pressed the action early in the first round, forcing a fast pace with crafty offense in close. Wilson responded to the early assault by stepping up his output and retaliating with hard left hooks and right hands down the middle The action was brisk in the first two minutes of the round with both fighters connecting in the pocket, but by the end of the round Wilson had found a rhythm with one-twos and right hand counters as Bissett stepped in. One of the top fighters in the Pacific Northwest will look to keep his unbeaten record intact next Saturday, January 30th at the Jackson County Expo in Central Point, Oregon. Cruiserweight prospect Mike “White Delight” Wilson will take on experienced journeyman Adam “The Atom Bomb” Collins in the six round main event of White Delight Promotions’ packed seven bout “Rogue Valley Rumble 3″ card.

A stand-out amateur who claimed the 2004 and 2005 United States National super heavyweight titles as well as the 2005 AIBA World Amateur super heavyweight championship, Wilson has gone unblemished in twelve professional fights, ending six of those bouts within the distance. The rangy boxer-puncher from Southern Oregon is proving to be a growing draw in the area, drawing larger attendance numbers with each fight.
