NEW YORK CITY, June 3, 2010 — Prior to today’s Yankees-Orioles game at Yankee Stadium, [From L to R] three-time world champ Miguel Cotto (34-2, 28KOs), Yankees Manager Joe Girardi and undefeated WBA super welterweight champ Yuri Foreman (28-0, 8KOs) took part in an on-field pregame ceremony.
Cotto and Foreman will face off on Saturday for Foreman’s title at ‘Stadium Slugfest at Yankee Stadium’ will be nationally televised live by HBO at 10:15p.m. ET / 7:15p.m. PT; tickets are available at the Yankees ticket office, via www.ticketmaster.com or by calling (800) 982-2787; it is the first prizefight in the Yankees’ home since Muhammad Ali won a unanimous dec. over Ken Norton on 9/28/76 at the original Yankee Stadium.
The Official Weigh-In for the event will take place on Friday in the Great Hall in Yankee Stadium, beginning at 3:00 p.m.; parking at cost will be available for fans and media in Lot 3, located on River Avenue between 162nd and 164th Streets; Michael Buffer will be on hand to emcee the event, which is open to the public; the press gate will open at 2:30 p.m.
