Monte Attell

BORN   July 28 1885; San Francisco, California
DIED November 11 1960; San Francisco, California
HEIGHT 5-5
WEIGHT 115-125 lbs
MANAGERS Johnny Mooney
RECORD 44-27-17 (23 KO, 26 ND, 1 NC)

Attell was a determined and capable fighter who worked his way to the Bantamweight Championship of the World; He grew up scrapping in a tough neighborhood and made his living the same way; He was the brother of the famous Abe Attell and Caesar Attell

Monte began fighting in 1902 and mixed it up in the ring until 1917 - long past his peak; Consequently, his record is less impressive because he won only two bouts after 1910

During his career, Monte defeated such men as Frankie Neil, Jimmy Walsh, Jimmy Reagan, Johnny Reagan, Percy Cove and Dusty Miller
