Report from Denmark
by Claus Jensen
On November 14th two big but untested heavyweights battle it out in
Copenhagen, Denmark. IBO titleholder Brian Nielsen(38-0) will face Don
Steele(42-0). These are the two guys with the best looking record in
the world, and we always want to see fights between fighters like
that.
Brian Nielsen's best wins came against James Smith, Tony Tubbs, Larry
Holmes and Crawford Grimsley - all by way of knock out.
Don "The Man Of" Steele has fought no one - but still he could be
good, no one really knows.
Brian Nielsen is still waiting for his shot at one of the big titles.
Lennox Lewis' promoter Frank Maloney and Nielsens promoter Mogens
Palle were close to signing a deal in august - but failed.
After Lewis' win against Golota, Maloney has once again contacted
Palle. If Nielsen beats up Steele - Lewis might make a voluntary
denfence against him, before a unification fight with
Moorer/Holyfield.
But one things for sure - boxing's never for sure.
