Duffy was a capable boxer who lost only one contest during his career; He was a good hitter who delivered solid blows; He was game and possessed excellent stamina; Paddy won the Welterweight Championship of the World during his career

During his career, Duffy defeated such men as Billy McMillan, Tom Meadows, Dan Murphy, Charles Gleason, Charles "Bull" McCarthy, Jack McGinty and Dan Custy

In 1994, he was inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame
