Holyfield was the "Real Deal" - a man made of the "Right Stuff" who always found a way to win; He was a great "pound-for-pound" fighter who worked his way up through the heavier divisions and won the Cruiserweight Championship of the World and the Heavyweight Championship of the World in the process

As an amateur, he won the National Golden Gloves Light Heavyweight Championship and the Olympic Light Heavyweight Bronze Medal

Evander could box and punch, dish it out and take it; He hit hard and took a solid punch; He could move or wade in and trade blows

He is most famous for his two bouts with Mike Tyson and his three bout series with Riddick Bowe; During his career, he defeated such men as Tyson, Bowe, Larry Holmes, George Foreman, Michael Moorer, John Ruiz and Hasim Rahman

Holyfield is destined to be inducted into the International Boxing Hall of Fame when he becomes eligible
