Kane was an excellent fighter who lost only 8 bouts in 98 contests and scored 53 knockouts; During his career, he won the Flyweight Championship of the World, the EBU Bantamweight Championship of Europe, the Flyweight Championship of the British Empire (Commonwealth) and the BBBC Flyweight Championship of Great Britain

Peter defeated such men as Salvador "Dado" Marino, Baltazar Sangchili, Jackie Jurich, Valentin Angelmann, Eugene Huat, Norman Lewis, Nicolas Petit-Biquet, Jimmy Warnock, Ed "Bunty" Doran, Theo Medina, Joe Cornelis, Tiny Bostock, Enrico Urbinati, Ernst Weiss and Jimmy Stubbs

Nat Fleischer ranked Kane as the #9 All-Time Flyweight; Herb Goldman ranked him as the #14 All-Time Flyweight
