From what I could tell, Koch died as the result of a bar fight with some bouncers, and that no charges were filed? What were the circumstances that someone gets beaten up so bad that they die (assuming that's what actually happened) with no charges against the assailant(s)? Now, from what little info there is on the web, it seems that Koch started things, but killing the man seems a little extreme.

I think that Koch actually died from strangulation, didn't he? A couple of cops put in a chokehold that went too far. He was probably "resisting arrest," which absolved the cops of blame. PeteLeo.

My memory of Koch will be defeating Butterbean in a toughman, and also putting on a fantastic fight with Ed Mahone.

The fight with Ed Mahone was a classic. Excellent fight.

I think it was the bouncers who put him in one of those L.A cop choke holds.
Reportly he was trying to pick up some bimbo in the bar and was asked to leave.
