well i recently purchased and read Willie Peps book

Willie pep remembers fridays Heroes

In the back of teh book it contained a record of all his career fights as is usual.

However on January the 23rd 1945 it claims Willie pep fought Ralph WILSON but on Boxrec and CBZ it says its a Ralph Walton and film of the bout i have seen the commentater calls his opponent Ralph Walton. However i can find no record of a Ralph Wilson existing.

However i cant find archives of Boston newspapers around the time to find out the right last name. Can anyone help? Or is it just a mistake?

Pep's book is an entertaining, if sanitized, read, but is rife with factual errors.

BTW, if I could, I'd like to add "Kramden" to the title above. He may have had a few pounds on the Will O' the Wisp, but I feel Pep's mystical boxing prowess could have easily offset that disadvantage.

Woo-woo! to you.
