A DIFFERENT PLACE


Look at a boxing ring. Go to an empty gym and look at the ring. Simple structure. Strands of rope attached to ring posts and a canvas mat. A work place and theater for the sport of boxing. Inside the ring is the most unforgiving place in the world. Once you are inside the ring you are expected to accept what comes at you. It is not friendly. Sympathy is a vacuum. If you can't take what's going on in there,there's no law saying you have to go back in. But if you make the decision to get inside the ring,you are on your own. You have to find something inside yourself to survive in there. Don't look at your corner to help you. You have to punch. Protect yourself. You are on your own. When the work inside the ring is over,you leave with a satisfaction that you were tested when you had no one with you. Alone, you withstood the test. If you can do it alone,you know you can do anything.

What a war!!!! That must have been a hard fight to be in the
corner for. I got wore out by the fourth rd. Can't imagine how
you felt. How long did it take the cut over Tony's eye to heal?

Hi Kevin, it was a hard fight, hard to work the corner, and a hard fight for both Tony and Robin, the cut took about 3 months to heal, the doctor did a good job, that cut never reopen again, in fact that was the only time Tony ever got cut.

He was alright with it, he knew it was a bad cut and that he had lost lots of blood which made him weak, btw, I was the one who stopped the fight.

Thanks Danny....No doubt, I'm very proud of the boys, they might not have been great fighters, but they were good fighters and gave 110% of them selfs.

First off, hope you and yours had a great holiday and that the new year is going well. ESPN2 showed a replay of Tony's fight with Hector Camacho Saturday and watching it brought to mind a question that I simply have to ask you...as one father to another:

What was Tony thinking with that hairstyle and how did you let yourself be seen with him in public?
