    Is defense dead? Seen some games that were highly entertaining, but honestly, confirmed for me why Alabama and LSU are the two top ranked teams. They are the only ones with total balance all around. Seems that all the other top teams have great offenses but so-so or even poor defenses. Even special teams play has been sketchy. All of these teams would have a much tougher time of it scoring on LSU and Bama, while conversely those latter two teams would run up the score on all of them, eventually.

    The Tide held LSU to 5 first downs and 92 total yards. While Bama has 21 first downs and 384 totals yards.
