    I grew up watching Andy in Mayberry, a good-as-gold rural version of Father Knows Best. His first television acting was in No Time For Sergeants. Some thought he could play that role because that was what he was - a country bumpkin. Then came his film debut in A Face In the Crowd. That laid those notions to rest.
