    Cars: An L.A. Love Story

Autos and streetcars share the road at 7th Street and Broadway in downtown Los Angeles in 1934

A price war found motorists filling up with gas for 2 cent a gallon--3 cents tax not included--at Hollywood's largest service station.
Police were eventually called in to maintain order.

The views are stunning but the city lights have often been overlooked by the countless couples who have parked on one of Mulholland Drive's many "makeout " points

It seens like surfing and station wagons have always gone together in SoCal's car culture. Guy adams's 1948 Ford Wooyd is photographed at Huntington Beach.

Frank- Thank you for posting the Los Angeles Times "spread"
about history of automobiles in the Los Angeles area. It is
too bad that the automobile eventually wiped out the great
mass transportation system in Los Angeles, "The Big Red Cars."
