good god almighty was dempsey in shape and trained like a fuckin race horse!!! lord!!! notice his extra dark facial skin from the brine. talk about a reall tiger and figher training down to a peak--whew- thats one high tech, rolls royce body with mureders intentions.
He had perfect proportions for a fighter, Dempsey that is. Large hard head with perfect unbreakable steelike jaw - very, very, very, heavy jaw bone but perfectly set in with the same for the cheekbones and deepset eyes ,very srtong but pilable neck. Large hands and that perfect body. And as it turned out; this young man could fight better than he looked.
I have amazing photos and cannot figure out how to do this damn thing.
Maybe I'll get help.
Anyway, great stuff. Some I've never even seen.
Great thread.
Getting hit by Dempsey at that stage in his career must have been like getting hit by a truck . A lean mean fighting machine .
only slightly harder than a mack truck.
Foreman vs Moorer
Jim,
I am surprized you didn't mention that "Jack Dempsey could leap tall buildings in a single bound".
Mike,
Jeeze, try and control yourself, it's only a picture of Dempsey.
Pete Leo,
I am surprized you havn't chimed in after seeing a picture of Dempsey with his shirt off, standing next to a mere mortal. Did you faint ?

Oh, just stop with the tantrum and try to act half of your age.
hey, whats with this shoemaker cocksucker--not to be a tough guy--but there is no way this punk would say it to my face--as is --well i hope he keeps it up and gets kicked off of this board.

lord- these are some great phtos, frank !!
My, my, you sure do like pissing in the bobcat's cage, don't you? Do I need to remind you that that never ends well?Originally Posted by The Shoemaker
Actually, I'm a bit surprised to hear anything out of you, bubbie, since you were so freaking quiet after stamping your little feets and wailing that you never said Gibbons "beat or almost beat Dempsey" . . . and then I quoted your own words saying that exact thing only a few posts earlier. Took awhile to come back from that embarrassment, didn't it?
Don't worry, Lulu, I'm sure you'll have plenty of other chances to look foolish in the future. PeteLeo.
Pete,
Yes, I did mistakenly list Gibbons with the fighters that dempsey lost to or nearly lost to, and of coarse you gleefully pointed out my mistake- big deal.
Ironically, it was the same post that you chastized me for mentioning Ali vrs Carnera, asking "why would I bring that up on a dempsey thread ?" when in fact the Ali-Carnera post was on a thread about Ali. Of coarse I didn't get all excited pointing that out.
Mike,
This is turning into an ESB forum, when people take it personal when you criticise "their fighter". Jack Dempsey ain't Jesus Christ, Budda or any other God, he's a human being who had faults as a fighter and as a person, just like everyone else. I quit hero-worshipping long ago. Yes, those were snide comments to the three of you, who've I've had running arguments with for months over dempsey, but they wern't malicious or vicious. I have my opinions and you have yours. Whether you kick my ass or not, ain't changing my opinion.
Why don't you guys take this up in PM's...that's what they are there for instead of spreading it out through the thread?
