    Question For Hap & Frank

    GENTLEMEN:

We've started a new boxing photo forum. There are a lot of pic threads on this forum but before I move anything I wanted to know if you prefer that I leave them here in the California forum since all the pics are pertinent to this forum.

Anyway, It's up to you. Happy to leave them or move them.

    You're call.

    regards,

    GorDoom

As usual, Gordoom, you are dead on!

I have not contributed any photos as yet, but I intended to do so once I talk my people here into scanning them for the thread. So your interest in giving them a proper spot is timely to say the least.

Whatever you decide is fine with me.

    regards

Since your amenable to going either way, for now I'll leave the California pics here as they are a big part of this forum.

    Agreed.

Just wanted to get you guys' input before I did anything. After all Hap & you are really the engines for this forum. The pics on this forum should stay here as they are so specific to the forum.

Re: Question For Hap & Frank

    Hi,
I am looking for some help with finding information about someone who was a boxer in the LA area 55+ years ago.
The person I am looking for information about was Gilbert Bermudez Gonzales
He is my husbandís father although my husband Robert never met him. Gilbert died in the early sixties.
What I do know about Gilbert is he was a boxer in the Los Angeles area. He was born in 1914 in New Mexico but the family moved to Los Angeles before 1920. He was not a real big man so he would have been a light weight or welter weight fighter maybe.
I know very little about boxing. What I do know is Gilbert started boxing in the 1930's as a teenager and from what we were told he was still boxing in the very early 1950's but stopped then because he was losing to much.
Could anyone tell be how I could go about finding out about an old boxer. Do they keep records and who would I need to get in touch with.
    Thank You for any help
    Debbie

No articles appear in the on-line LA Times for Gilbert Bermudez Gonzales from 1920 to 1950.
