Terrific. Thanks.
On the scheduled opening card at the Olympic Auditorium,
every listed fighter was known to Southern California
boxing fans of the time. One was a veteran from
the Four-Round Era, Phil Salvadore. It is ironic that
Salvadore also fought in the first main events staged
at two other new boxing facilities located in the Los Angeles
area, vs. Joe Benjamin in the last version of the Vernon
Arena in a boutand vs. Dick Hoppe in the first version of
Wilmington Bowl.
