Amos Kid Carlin was one terrific prospect, way back in the 1920s. He is a great subject for anyone wanting to write a boxing story with a strange twist.
You see, Frank, this young man was doing very well as a leading flyweight and bantamweight when he drowned while on vacation in his home state.
He was actually unbeaten for a time and seemed to be on track for a title bout.
