    the great little Nel Tarleton, right behind Peerless Jem Driscoll.
    Tarlton it was said; "did not defend with gloves or forearm, he simple just flickered out of range like a mirage."

    won the featherweight title twice and eclipsed every notable foe before retiring it in 1946.
    Two world title bouts with Freddie Miller and only after his retirement it was reveled that
    Nel Tarleton had only full capacity in one lung, the result of tuberculosis.

    Ken Shaw vs. Freddie Mills - Shaw lost both battles to Mills TKO severely cut lip. Shaw also fought 3 victories in the States!

    Tommy Gilmour Snr. (glasses on the left),
    Gilmour did not manage Ken Shaw, what was his business down London for this battle, there were protests from Gilmour & the Gilroy camp 'against' this contest (British HW eliminator), taking place as Freddie had not yet 'defended' his British L-HW title... or was Gilmour there on 'other' business???
