was impressed with pacman tonite however the only thing velasquez is equal to eric morales in is heart....if manny can hurt you and go on attack he is ferocious but even velasquez showed tonite that manny can still get a little confused in there...so far i still think morales will win again...but first....zahir raheem....

    Zahir

    Thanks for the updates, guys!
I was able to catch a lot of it on the big screen, and from what I saw Zahir won that fight from Philly to Tijuana.
I heard the post-fight interviews: and Erik cemented himself as a very poor sportsman once again.
He said Zahir wouldn't fight him.
    Huh??
Erik was beaten thoroughly and really beaten up. I am going to watch the tape later without interruption and score it.
    Thanks again, fellas!

    UT beats OSU

I was flipping between the OSU/UT game in a classic UT pulled out in the end. It was the first time the two storied programs had ever met on the field.

Pac performed like I expected. He didn't come as quick out the gate and still has a problem with getting his delicate scar tissue mixed up with the other fighter's head, but he has a very underrated right hand and free flowing style when he gets going. I was unclear if Velazquez stopped himself or the ref made the decision. Regardless Manny was landing good shots and in his groove.

Morales seemed out of sync from the start. I expected Raheem to maybe take the first 2 rounds, but I figured he'd start to collapse once Morales found the range.

Raheem improved on his style from the Juarez bout where he was lucky to survive the early rounds. He hung in the pocket and threw more solid punches instead of the popcorn he offered up Juarez. He seems to have shaky legs though and was hurt in the bout. The fact that he is always slipping the 2X I have seen him does not bode well for a long stay at the top.

Morales has been fading with the wars he's been in, but I figured him to just walk down Raheem, which he tried to do later in the fight. He reminded me of how Hagler made a mistake in trying to outbox Duran. Hagler pulled out his fight where he started off with bad strategy, but later could not pull out the Leonard fight.

Morales should have used more pressure. Fightnews mentioned that he was slow. He's never been fast and Raheem was faster as we expected. You just have to pressure a fighter like that, not box him.

I'd like to see Raheem against Chavez who is an active pressure fighter. When is Marquez going to make one of these bouts? He let the big money and big bouts pass him by.

and the winner is.....zahir raheem...ud. they got it right!

the worse choice of the nite was obviously putting morales in with a slickster at an unacostomed weight.....eric was the lightest fighter on the card tonite and he did not have the strength to overcome a spirited zahir raheem at 138.

there was such a difference in styles between zahir and manny that to gauge what might have been now is almost sensless...i see zahir doing the same thing to manny....but then again zahir may have benifitted from the numerous wars in erics career....eric at the end looked like he lacked that last deep breath at the finish line.....

I kept waiting for Erik to catch him with his hands down. That punch never came, because Erik could not set it up and he did not have the speed to slip a good one in.

Pacquiao does have the speed, but his style is worst than Morales' is, especially against a boxer who fights his best going backward. Marquez proved that.

I'd still go with Manny on his best night against Raheem, but I would not be surprized if Raheem got him like he just did Erik.

    Morales was trying to outbox
a better boxer then him an he lost
big time , the guys in his corner
should have told him he was fighting
the wrong fight, when something is
not working you try some else

He should not have been on the same card if he did not want to winner of the opposite bout.

The is wide open for Barrera-Pacquaio 2, but I don't think Marco really wants that.
