Could Howard outbox a prime Cervantes over 15 rounds and win a decision?
Benitez Camacho, What did Davis do at 140 that makesthisworthy of dicussion?

no he could not.
He got knocked out cold by Buddy McGirt inside a round.Originally Posted by hawk5ins

I am afraid 15 rounds will always be an awfully long time for Howard to successfully compete with a good resolute champion, in his prime,...at Jr Welter !
- However, as an aside, a good fight of Howards to watch at Jr Welter is his 10 Rounds Draw with the young quick-fire Meldrick Taylor, their careers were heading in different directions at the Time, but Howard Matched Mel speed and an excellant "boxing" match ensued,
Of course Howard was never up against the type of challenge Cervantes would have provided.
Howard is of course best chosen at his prime and 135lbs for suggested match-ups.
Why are some people posting smart remarks?
If you don't want to answer it then don't.
No need to make people feel foolish.
And for the record I think over 15 rounds Cervantes is going to eventually catch Davis.I think the early rounds Cervantes would be troubled by the speed and movement of Davis. It would be a competive bout but I think Cervantes is too strong for Davis.Cervantes could also box pretty good as well but he wasn't nearly as quick as Davis.
I saw Antonio Cervantes handle Esteban DeJesus easily in a bout
shown on television, so I don't think that Cervantes would have
much trouble vs. Howard Davis, who wasn't close to being as
good as DeJesus.
