Same old story. Star athlete has tons of women throwing themselves at him. Instead of remaining single, he gets married, then cheats. Is this anything new? I don't condone cheating on your wife, but why is this story so intriguing? I would say the VAST majority of star athletes, in fact, stars in general, whether they be politicians or actors, cheat because women make it so damn easy. These guys have gals throwing themselves at them all the time. Temptation + moral weakness = cheating. Now, if these wives were smart, they would travel around with these guys, or not marry them.

Glad to see he's losing endorsements, but has anyone really used a product over and over because a celeb endorses it? I think its poetic justice his one love, golf, has been taken away from him for a time.
The women he slept with should be treated as the homewreckers they are and not try and play any type of sympathy card. Gold diggers and homewreckers rewarded with payoffs and media time.

Yeah, philly, the more and more that comes out the more I now feel that

She's a fool for sticking with him after this. If he cheated with so many women, then he didn't/doesn't love her. He may kick my ass on the golf course every time, but I can look in the mirror, or my kid in the face, and not be ashamed of anything I've done.

He is and always will be a sports icon. Ali played the field and I still consider him the
ultimate sports athlete. If we become so picky about what athletes or stars do, then nobody would ever be an icon.
BTW, it has been reported that Elin will leave him after Christmas.

I don't know who could have leaked THAT, I mean, who??, Tiger or Elin, but I imagine it's absolute baloney.
If she divorces him right now, she'd get hundreds of millions.
If she stays, she'd retain access to hundreds of millions.
I don't see how that $3.5 million can be anything other than a false rumor.
I have to say, walshb, that I'm a little shocked at this answer. Kids or no kids. Even if you backed off of it later.

It was reported in the News Of The World (British tabloid) today.
I am not saying it's accurate, but someone is saying it.
I am not going to slate Tiger for playing away. Many many men all over
the world are at it. It's not a crime. Do I feel sorry for Elin? Yes, a little.
It seems that the marriage was never solid, these people don't marry out of love.
There are so many celeb marriages that are simply business arrangements, kids or not, they are still business arrangements.
Tiger and Elin may well limp along for a few years, but
whatever they did have is broken, and me thinks they didn't ever have
much to begin with

Actually, SO many PEOPLE cheat--not just men. A poll in Britain a couple of years ago indicated that 66% of married women had cheated on their husbands. Hard to believe men anywhere cheat in higher proportions than that. Men tend to be the more serial cheaters--having more partners. What Tiger did isn't unusual, for a celebrity or for the average Joe.
What stands out to me is that, his being a famous person, all of his women knew that he was married, there's no way for a well known man to cover that up. So, they were knowingly participating in adultery.
Which still doesn't make them guilty of much, IMO, because we don't know what he said to them, and they violated no law. HE is the one cheating on a spouse; these other women have every right to believe him when he says he "loves" them or whatever. In defense of a lot of women who have dated married men, often it's the only married man she'll ever date, and the guy insists it's SHE whom he really loves, AND he's going to get a divorce.
In the end, the "other woman" loses out most times, being humiliated and with the guy returning to his wife... and the wife has lost out by her being humiliated and never being able to trust the guy again... whereas the Tigers of the world continue to be idolized by a sports-mad fan base, you know, like the Lakers fan who threatened to kill the woman that Kobe may have raped, because God forbid that Kobe should miss a game. Athlete-worship is pretty childish, but oh so common.
Tiger may lose some endorsements, and only because there were so many women--ONE lover would have cost him NOTHING endorsement-wise. But, he probably won't lose any fans, and will gain a bunch more as a result of his notoriety. No one worshiped him for his bullshit-image anyway, it was for his golf game only.
Tiger is the worlds premier "athlete", and I respect him for that. He is a phenomenal golfer and really has put golf on the map, well, more so than it was.

Tiger is guilty of one of the most natural things a person, man or woman, can be
guilty of. This doesn't see me think any different of the man. Now, had he raped or beaten people, then I would despise the man.
Walsh, what Woods has done isn't just fuck a few chicks, as your postings seem to indicate. When you marry someone you pledge to be faithful. When you love someone the last thing you would ever do is anything that would hurt them. What Tiger has done is prove, beyond any doubt, that his personal character is that of a weak, weak man. He violated one of the most sacred promises you can make, and he has violated the trust of someone he supposedly loved. And has in large part risked the happiness of his children, something a real man would never do.
I have nothing but respect for Woods as an athlete. I have NEVER had any respect for him as a sportsman. But this activity he is engaging in off the course is not much different than what he does on the course - he has always acted like a 12 year old who never has had to be responsible for his actions. HIs club slamming, foot stomping, staring daggers at any putt that dares not to fall is how children with a child's sense of entitlement act on the golf course. So does Tiger. Now we know he acts like that in life as well.
Personally, I don't care much about what Tiger does other than on the course. I've never met his wife or kids and haveno invenstment in their happiness either. But for anyone to suggest that what Tiger has done is the most natural thing in the world? Only for those with no regard to their obligtions or repect for others.

I ask anyone: Do they know what type of woman Elin is or was? Maybe life with
her was dull, boring, unexciting and unbearable and Tiger was fed up and needed something elsewhere. He got it.
And, if what he did was not natural, then at least half the world are
unnatural. A hell of a lot of men in this world like sex, and like it
with not just the ONE woman, married or not, you cannot change an animal

Now, in classic walsh misdirection you ask me "what crime did he commit?" Please find someplace where I said he committed a crime. All I said was he has always had a 12-year-old's sense of entitlement about golf, and he clearly has the same feeling about life. This is pretty obvious and undeniable.
And again, sex isn't what he did wrong. THAT is a natural thing. Violating the trust of your wife, children and family is not a natural thing. But rather than simply say that Tiger is wrong to do it (something he readily admits himself), you try to defelct the blame onto the one person who is the biggest victim in this ridiculous scenario - his wife. A woman who is under the same microscope now as Tiger, and who so far as been found to be nothing less than a loving, caretaking wife who is standing by Tiger, though he has done nothing to deserve that kind of loyalty, believing that he will change.
And even if she is a bitch of the highest order, treats him like a dog and is dull, unexciting and unbearable, he has the option of endinig the marraige rather than simply ignore the promises he made to her.
Parnevik? Absolutley, what he said to the press was wrong. Personally, I don't blame him for feeling how he feels, but for him to voice it to the press was lowbrow and vindictive. Again, does anyone deny this? Why keep addressing issues that nobody is making an issue of.

It appears that, in addition to having sex with "hot chicks" while on tour, Woods was also involved with at least one woman whom he brought to his--and his wife's--mansion in Florida and had sex with her there.

TKO is right. As someone who grew up in a household in which there was cheating in a marriage, it's just not a cool thing to do when kids are involved period. You are bored, unhappy . . etc. Go to therapy or don't have children. You have children, suck it up like a man and be responsible. That's not 'religious dogma' . . .that's called simple ethics.
Thou shall not commit adultery.
When you get married you pledge to be faithful. Break that pledge and what good is your word. It goes to character. If you want to fool around, don't get married.
But its not his fault. He has a sex addiction. Some rehab and all is forgiven.After all, he entertains us by playing golf.
Did he kill someone, no. Did he rob or cause harm to anyone, no.
Is this an issue between him and his wife? absolutely. But he is a public figure and makes a lot of money from endorsements so his character and image are issues open for public scrutiny.
I really don't care what he does, my opinion or approval mean nothing to him. I'll still watch him play golf, but I think I'll be cheering for mickelson from now on.
My opinion of him has never changed. He's a complete douche. Alway was, always will be. Not much of a role model for kids and when we pay these guys millions of dollars to hit a white ball in a hole or over a fence, smack a puck into the back of a net etc. they should be able to behave in a decent, respectable fashion.
What surprises me the mst is that golfers actually have sex. I mean the nerdiest sport in the whole world, and this guy is a freaking stud! Wilt Chamberlain I can understand, but a golfer!?!?! C'mon!
I'm not surprised. These guys can put it in the hole 18 times in an afternoon. What other athlete can make that claim.
It's much more difficult to score a hole in just one in golf.
