EMF, I'm no Woods fan, but a bad knee in golf could make a huge difference. It is a more precise game than football. Miss-hitting the ball by 1/16 of an inch and you've mis-hit it completely--it isn't landing on the green. Miss it by 1/8 of an inch underneath it, you now have a fat shot that goes 50 yards and not 250 yards, and a lot of mud in your face.
It's probably akin to having an arthritic finger in archery-- probably a big effect there, too.
If a runner has but a "sore" toe, he cannot be at his best.
It's all relative.
