Mustafa Hamsho Vs Vito Antufuermo

So who wins this exciting middleweight matchup?

Could Vito outwork and outhustle Hamsho to earn a hard-fought decision? Or would he get cut up and stopped as he bulled his way in from Mustafa`s headbutts, elbows, with a few low blows thrown in for good measure? Both men had iron wills and guts galore, Vito had the better stamina but Mustafa had the slightly better skills. Put a gun to my head and I would pick Vito to win a decision, but I wouldn`t put any money down on it.

$50 bucks

It ends on either a DQ or technical decision.

HA!

And Freddie Brown screaming at the ref from one corner, and Al Certo screaming at him from the other. Worth the price of admission by itself.

Would have been one of the bloodiest, dirtiest, fights EVER! My call? The winner would be the guy who commited the 2nd to last foul.

Yep

And without nearly enough F-bombs to share between the two.

Add to it Braverman and Flood and there goes the entire "foul language dictionary" Yahtzee game spilled all over the floor in one evening.

Ho boy. Who the hell needs Vito and Mustafa?

Not quite sure if i agree that Hamsho had the better skills, Against other aggressors Like Briscoe and Hilton Vito Surprised, Perhaps the luxury of not have to go crowd a mobile shapeshooter enabled Vito show a little extra ?
Barring cuts i might just Fancy Vito, if it becomes a constant inside Maul, to squeak it by dint of being a tad more active ?

Re: Mustafa Hamsho Vs Vito Antufuermo

Cuts & fouls aside, Hamsho being a southpaw might have troubled Vito. Though I do think as far as infighting & mauling Vito was the stronger guy.

This is not meant as a prediction because I really don't have a clear opinion on this match up.

Re: Mustafa Hamsho Vs Vito Antufuermo

Remember, the inside bruising style employed by Vito was not his original style. Watch the Danny McAloon fight and you'll see an outside fighter with dynamically fast hands. Never a hard puncher but a very sharp hitter. He changed his style to a more crowd pleasing inside brawler as he was becoming a fringe contender, but always had a deceptively fast pair of hands which seems to be lost in history because of the bull like style he was now employing. Hamsho had one way to fight and wasn't going to change. If Vito couldn't beat him one way, he could do it another. Vito on a decision.

The ref, wearing blinders, finally stops the fight when he slips and falls in a pool of Vito's blood. Hamsho by TKO after about 7 mutually brutal rounds.

I gotta love Gordoom's prediction. This would be one dirty but, if not, then boring fight. Two guys who land punches (or elbows or heads) in a most undynamic way. This fight looks BAD as you watch it. Looks like slow motion even in real time. Not one to tape.

I like Vito by decision, as Hamsho, who was very much a bully, doesn't intimidate Vito, who is equally tough and has an old-fashioned work ethic.

But if Hamsho won, I wouldn't be terribly surprised. Only if one guy won big--that would surprise me.

I like Vito Antufermo by a technical decision in 7 rounds. This fight would be dirty, but after the fight is stopped on cuts caused by headbutts, Antufermo would win by a technical decision.
