Durán leaves politics for business ventures
By Mike DeLisa

"Hands of Stone" Roberto Durán confirmed today that he was withdrawing his candidacy for vice mayor of the capital of Panama. Elections are to be held this coming May. "I left because, the truth, right now I do not be very put of full in the politics, and because I travel a great deal, always I am travelling," Duran told RPC Radio in Panama.

He added that in March through May "is when I travel more and I do not have time to be with [Marco] Ameglio" the Mayor.

"Hand of Stone" explained that in addition to travel, he plans to become a promoterof boxers and artists, as well as opening a restaurant in the Panamanian capital.

Durán did not give details about the financing for these projects.
