Flyweight Champ Parra Undergoes Surgery

Caracas, Venezuela. Lorenzo "Lencho" Parra, 27-0, WBA Lightweight Champion, left the hospital last night after undergoing what was described as successful knee sugery.

Parra blew out his his knee while training for a scheduled October 14 defense against Panama's Roberto Vasquez. That defense is on hold while Parra undergoes at least three months of rehabilitation.

CHICAGO - Female boxer Nora Reyes (center) who will be fighting this Friday at the Aragon Ballroom, is flanked by WBC Interim Lightweight Title holder David Diaz and WIBA Americas Lightweight Title holder Rita Figueroa. The three were spotted at Jean's Sports Bar, located on the west side of Chicago, this past Saturday.

Figeroa, a popular boxer in Chicago and at the Cyber Boxing Zone, will be working Nora's corner this Friday.
