Darwish Brothers' Press Conference Rescheduled!

Due to a schedule conflict we have re-scheduled our original pre-fight press conference for the upcoming Darwish Brother’s Knockout Promotions event. The press conference will now take place at the Robert Treat Hotel located at 50 Park Place in Newark, on Tuesday December 7, at 12:00 pm.

Michalczewski Preps for Tiozzo, Poses for Poster!

Hamburg - In three months former longtime WBO light heavyweight champion Dariusz Michalczewski, 48-1 (41), will challenge current World Boxing Association title holder Fabrice Tiozzo, 46-2 (30), on February 26, 2005, at Color Line Arena in Hamburg, Germany.

The 36-year-old German-Pole, who is coming back from a one year layoff, already started training at the Universum gym. Yesterday Michalczewski was the leading actor in a photo shooting for his fight poster.

Oscar de la Hoya-Bernard Hopkins Press Conference Cancelled Till Further Notice!

The Oscar de la Hoya / Bernard Hopkins press conference that was scheduled to take place at the Beverly Hilton – Versailles room on Tuesday, November 16, 2004 at 11:30am has been cancelled until further notice. Previous publicity suggested that they had exciting news for boxing fans.

Byrd has Big Time Weight Disadvantage

When defending IBF heavyweight champ, Chris Byrd steps into the ring at Madison Square Garden tomorrow night against the giant Jameel "Big Time" McCline, he will be outweighed by some 56 pounds, the 4th great weight differece in world title bout. Incidentally, of the previous 12 fights of fighters who weighed lighter than their opponent, the little big guys are 6-5 with 1 no decision. Here's a historical listing of these fights.

MEMORIAL FOR MIKE "MOTORMOUTH" MORTON

A gathering in memory of boxing manager Michael "Motormouth" Morton will take place Sunday, Nov. 14 from 2 to 5 p.m. at the Matt Dishman Community Center (77 NE Knott St) of Portland, Oregon. Ray Lampkin and other fighters and friends of Morton are organizing the event. Mike Morton died Oct. 11, 2004 at the age of 92. Over a long lifetime of managing boxers, Morton represented hundreds of boxers ranging from bantam Jesus Pimentel to light heavyweight contender Andy Kendall, lightweight Ray Lampkin, and many other notables.
