CHICAGO – Two of Chicago’s fastest rising prospects, junior welterweights Adrian “EL Tigre” Granados and Luis “Sito” Santiago are making final preparations this week for their upcoming bouts at SOLO BOXEO TECATE set for Saturday, April 14th at Cicero Stadium.

SOLO BOXEO TECATE, presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions, HOME OF THE BEST IN CHICAGO BOXING, is headlined by a sensational ten round lightweight clash featuring former world title challenger Edner “Cherry Bomb” Cherry and Mexican warrior Juan Carlos “EL Pez” Martinez.

The 22 year old Granados, 7-1-1 with three knockouts, kicked off his 2012 campaign with a dominating eight round decision over cross-town rival Jaime Herrera on February 24th at the UIC Pavilion.

Prior to turning professional the Cicero resident was a Chicago Golden Gloves Champion in 2007 and 2008 and also named an alternate with the 2008 Mexican Olympic Team.

This will be Granados’ first bout in his hometown of Cicero since his pro debut. More information on his fight will be announced shortly.

Puerto Rican native Santiago has impressed Chicago boxing fans since turning professional one year ago. Winning his first four bouts in style, one by first round knockout, the last three by four round shutout decision, Santiago, 4-0-0 (1KO), will compete in his first six round bout against St. Louis, Missouri native Marlon Smith, 2-1-0 (1KO).

“We’re very happy to feature both Granados and Santiago on the undercard at SOLO BOXEO TECATE. Adrian has become one of the hottest prospects in boxing. He’s completely fearless and is looking to face the biggest named junior welterweight prospects this year” said Pesoli.

“‘Sito’ has continued to improve with each outing. He’s become a fan favorite with his flashy style and we look forward to another great outing from him.”

“With the outstanding main event we’ve put together and finalizing the details of the undercard this week, Chicago boxing fans are in for a terrific night of entertainment.”
