CHICAGO, IL, December 16, 2010 — Professional boxing in Chicago finishes on a high note Friday night, December 17th as WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 14 hits the UIC Pavilion in Chicago for an action packed evening.

Headlining the sensational seven bout card is a twelve round middleweight slugfest between Chicago residents Angel ‘Toro’ Hernandez and Ghanaian beast Osumanu Adama.

Long known in Chicago and national boxing circles for his aggressive, action packed style, Hernandez, 30-8-0 (17KO’s), has come to embody the term “fan friendly fighter.”

With a fourteen year ledger that includes such world champions and notables as Winky Wright, Kassim Ouma, Wilfredo Rivera, Antwun Echols, Frankie Randall, and J.C. Candelo, Hernandez is no stranger to battles at the highest levels of boxing.

A native of Accra, Ghana, now training in Chicago, Adama, 17-2-0 (13KO’s), made his rep this past April 30th when he engaged in a sensational eight round war with Chicago favorite son, Donovan George.

Although coming out on the short end of the decision, Adama earned the respect of the large crowd at the UIC Pavilion for his willingness to battle evenly with George throughout the fight.

At stake in the Hernandez/Adama bout will be the vacant IBO International Title.

In the co-main event at WINDY CITY FIGHT NIGHT 14, Chicagoan ‘King’ David Estrada will battle crafty Dominican Franklin Gonzalez in a ten round junior middleweight bout.

The 31 year old Estrada, 24-6-0 (15KO’s), is coming off one of the finest performances of his career, an eight round ESPN2 televised stoppage of highly regarded and undefeated prospect Orlando Lora on April 10th.

Dominating Lora from the opening bell, Estrada proved why he is one among the finest TV friendly fighters in the business,

Gonzalez, 13-6-0 (9KO’s), is coming off an excellent eight round battle with former world title challenger Dmitriy Salita on September 1st in Brooklyn, New York. In a bout that featured heated two-way action throughout, Salita was awarded a closely scored unanimous decision.

In a special attraction cruiserweight USBO Title bout, heavy handed Chicagoan Carl ‘Iron Fist’ Davis will face off against former world champion ‘King’ Arthur Williams in a scheduled ten round tilt.

Davis, 14-3-0 (11KO’s), had won seven in a row before being upset by DaVarryl Williamson in the fifth round in his last bout. A win over the much more experienced Williams would kick start momentum for his career leading into 2011.

Pensacola, Florida native Williams, 47-6-1 (30KO’s), has won four of his last five and is returning to action following a unanimous decision over undefeated prospect Valente Tinajero on April 10th.

Popular Chicago welterweight prospect Adrian ‘El Tigre’ Granados, 4-0-0 (2KO’s), will challenge Milwaukee’s Justin Danforth in a scheduled six rounder.

In his first four professional bouts, Granados has shown the world class skills and fearless style that has huge crowds returning for each of his fights.

Rounding out the card, junior middleweight Donatas Bondoravas, 10-1-1 (3KO’s), will challenge Troy, Missouri’s Brandon Baue, 12-4-0 (10KO’s) in an eight rounder.

Junior lightweights will see action as Russian Evgeny Gradovich, 6-0-0 (5KO’s) will battle Denver’s Tommy Atencio, 4-5-0 (2KO’s) in a six round tilt.

In a six round middleweight bout, Lamar Russ, 6-0-0 (5KO’s) will battle Miami’s Elie Augustama, 5-1-0 (3KO’s) to open the evening’s action.
