Bronx, NY — Suffolk County Executive, Steve Bellone will honor Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia and ‘The Fighting Pride of Huntington”, Chris Algieri this evening at  The Paramount in Huntington, New York prior to the start of the “Rockin Fights 10″ professional boxing event.

County Executive Bellone will make ring presentations to DeGuardia and Algieri for their commitment to the business and civic community through their outstanding work as part of the acclaimed “Rockin Fights” boxing series, the first nine of which have featured sold out, nationally televised events at The Paramount. Star Boxing’s Joe DeGuardia Survives Fatal Car Accident

NEW YORK, (July 29, 2012) Star Boxing’s President Joe DeGuardia has survived a horrific and tragic fatal car accident while on his way home from “ROCKIN FIGHTS 4,”a sold-out event at The Paramount in Huntington, New York. 

DeGuardia was on the Long Island Expressway in his new Mercedes Benz, when he was hit head-on by a Honda that was going the wrong way on the Expressway (just East of Exit ramp 41). The driver of the Honda was killed upon impact. There were reports that the driver of the Honda was operating without headlights on and was impaired. (continue reading…)

ALBANY, NY (February 5, 2012) Sports fans in Albany, New York turned out in droves on Saturday night as Star Boxing presented “KO AT THE TU” at the Times Union Center.

Bronx Bombers Invade Mohegan

UNCASVILLE, CT, July 30, 2009 — This Saturday, August 1st, Joe DeGuardia’s Star Boxing brings world championship boxing back to the Mohegan Sun Resort and Casino in Uncasville, CT, when Star Boxing’s IBF #2 rated Delvin Rodriguez (24-2-2, 14KO) takes on the IBF #3 rated Isaac Hlatshwayo (28-1-1, 10KO) for the vacant IBF Welterweight Championship of the World.

Before Rodriguez squares off against Hlatshwayo, two of the Bronx’s biggest boxing prospects will step into the ring against separate foes on the undercard. Star Boxing’s undefeated light heavyweight prospect, Yathomas Riley (6-0, 4KO) takes on Tiwon Taylor (26-15-1, 19KO) in a six round light heavyweight contest, while The Real Million Dollar Baby, Maureen Shea (13-1, 7KO) takes on Lindsay Garbatt (2-2, 2KO) in an eight round super featherweight attraction. For Shea she will be looking to get back into title contention and more importantly get back into the win column after suffering her first defeat as a pro in her bid for the WBA female super featherweight title back in February of this year.
