CHICAGO, IL, Friday, September 23, 2011 – Windy City fight Night 19, presented by Dominic Pesoli’s 8 Count Productions at Chicago’s UIC Pavilion, saw the return of fan favorite Andrzej Fonfara, whose huge contingent of Polish supporters were not disappointed by his efficient dissection of his latest foe. In the co-main event, Jaime Herrera successfully continued to build his winning streak in a war against the upset-minded Robert L. Jones. Chicago-based Ukrainian Viktor Polyakov was welcomed back to the ring by hard-punching Romaro St. Johnson. The undercard featured local fighters facing more experienced fighters, though not all proved to be the tests that they looked to be on paper, as well as the professional debut of Dimar Ortuz.

Both men came with bad intentions in the first round. St. Johnson worked behind a stiff jab, while Polyakov raked the body of his opponent and exploited the openings he created. By round’s end, the body shots were starting to take their toll on St. Johnson and his corner was urging him to return the favor. (continue reading…)
