But Jones himself was floored twice in that same round. Jones was also floored in the second, third, seventh and eighth round. Jones was getting back into the fight a bit in the fourth and fifth. In the eighth, after the last knockdown of the fight, Barry Jones' dad, Dennis, waved the towel, but the referee didn't notice it. Some seconds later, Jones' corner threw in the towel and the fight was stopped. Freitas is a big, phenomenal puncher (knocking down Jones six times), but still was taken into the eighth round by the brave Welshman, further than most people thought before the fight.

Word is that Freitas' handlers would like a fight with Mayweather or Corrales.
