Frankfurt - 18 October 1999. At the first fightcard of Universum Box-Promotion in Frankfurt this year two old German rivals will clash in a rematch of their encounter of 1995. It will be a career defining fight for Willi Fischer, 25-2-1 (18 KO4s), and Kim Weber, 27-1 (20 KO4s), who already fought each other four years ago. Weber was able to win their first encounter by a close decision over 10 rounds.

Since that time a lot of things have happened. The appearance of the outstanding Klitschko brothers in Germany in 1996 pushed Fischer and Weber back into the second row. In 1998 German champion Kim Weber was stopped by Mario Schiesser in the national upset of the year, whereas Willi Fischer unsuccessfully challenged Herbie Hide for the WBO world title.

"I'm looking forward to avenge one of my two losses", Willi Fischer commented the upcoming fight. "I improved a lot since our first fight. My offense is more controlled and I learned to make better use of my technique. I have the proper game plan and I know how to beat him."

Also on the card will be Bulgarian Daisy Lang, 8-1 (5 KO4s), one of the two female world champions of Universum Box-Promotion. Lang will make her first defense of the WIBF jr. bantamweight title that she won in July against Hungarian Gizella Papp in D|sseldorf. Her opponent will be Portugal's Sonia Pereira.

On the undercard undefeated international German super middleweight champion Mario Veit, 24-0 (14 KO4s), will fight for the vacant WBO intercontinental title against American Ray Domenge, 23-10 (14 KO4s). Veit is ranked number one by the World Boxing Organization. The WBO's reigning super middleweight champion is the Brit Joe Calzaghe.
