Hamburg / New York, April 20, 2000. European heavyweight champion Wladimir Klitschko will be fighting on April 29 in New York against American David Bostice.

The fight will be televised live on Premiere World in Germany and on HBO in the US.

For the 24-year-old Klitschko it will be a very significant fight because of two reasons. On the one side he competes on the undercard of the most prestigious fight in boxing, a world heavyweight championship between Lennox Lewis and Michael Grant. On the other side Wladimir has strong intentions to make up for the defeat of his brother Vitali three weeks ago who lost his WBO heavyweight title due to an injured shoulder to Chris Byrd in Berlin.

Against the 28-year-old Bostice Wladimir Klitschko will put his WBA international title on the line.

The young Klitschko brother scored 32 wins in his career, 30 by knockout, against one defeat. Bostice is 22-1-1 with 12 knockouts

Wladimir Klitschko: "I'm looking forward to this fight very much because I can prove to the Americans that the criticism against my brother was completely exaggerated and did not match reality. Once Vitali recovered he will show to the boxing fans that Klitschkos can fight. And that's also what I will show next week at Madison Square Garden "

"It's important for me to fight on the undercard of Lewis vs. Grant because I want to face the winner as soon as possible!"
