The Cyber Boxing Zone Newswire

Good Morning and Merry Christmas Mr. and Ms. America, and those reading this overseas,

FIVE STAR FLASH...DE LA HOYA TO DENY "ANY" TANGO IN CABO...WBC welterweight champion Oscar De La Hoya will deny that he even had sex with the 18 year old who has filed a $10 million law suit in California claiming Oscar among other things, raped her.

HISTORY

Oscar and Team Oscar leader (advisor) Mike Hernandez, brother Joel, and among others, Todd du Beof were in Cabo San Lucas partying after Oscar's first victory over Julio Cesar Chavez. It is being claimed that Oscar got away from his entourage and did the deed with this 15 San Bernadino chickita in his room.

WINCHELL EXCLUSIVE

Since there are so few employees in Top Rank, it's hard to squeeze one for a scoop because of the tight rein Master Bob Arum has on his crew. In this exclusive interview, this is what the source had to say.

"There were partying pretty good. Oscar was doing his dancing on the tables act at one point. Then, they took him back to his room and he went to sleep."

I then asked, Don't you mean passed out?

"Hey, he's a young man in the prime of life. A guy that's in training year round. OK, he likes to gamble, get drunk once in a while, and have a good time. He's entitled to that."

"But as for raping this bimbo,  s*it, he didn't even screw her."

MILL LANE HANGS UP POLYESTER PANTS

Referee Mills Lane, without question the most recognizable official in the sporting world, has retired.

FOX TV JUDGE IS ENTERTAINING, SERIES "PRETTY GOOD"

That old cranky welterweight Lane has found his true niche as host of the syndicated "Judge Mills Lane." Airing now in 100 cities, and all of the major markets, Mills can be both funny and repugnant in handling everything type of Civil case you can imagine.

LEAVING ON TOP

The 59 year old Lane leaves the squared circle at, or near the top with quite a number of significant matches under his belt. But he will forever be remembered for in one in particular.

THE BITE

Mills would tell me later that night. "I couldn't believe it. Holyfield was handling Mike and he couldn't, he wasn't man enough to let Holyfield beat him fair and square."

HONORABLE

Almost everytime a Judge enters the courtroom, the bailiff says, "Court is now in session. The honorable so and so presiding." Well, having been both a cop, and having known Lane since the 1980's, that's the way they should introduce him at his retirement party as he truly is "The Honorable Mills Lane

MARTIN CONQUEROR ON RING TALK THIS SATURDAY

Sumya Anani will probably go down in history as the last fighter on the professional ledger of Christy Martin, who in all likelihood will retire after Sumya pounded her like salt last Friday night for a ten round points win on USSB.

15-1 UNDERDOG ALMOST FINISHES MARTIN IN THREE

One can never say that Christy Martin doesn't have stones. (Stones is an old Mafia term for intestinal fortitude for those of you scratching your head) Because, if there was any quit in the Coal Miner's Daughter she would have never come out for the fourth round.

YOGA INSTRUCTOR/MASSAGE THERAPIST MAKES RING TALK "DEBUT"

Interesting and undefeated at 13-0, Sumya Anani will be part of the Ring Talk lineup that Saturday night that includes undefeated rage and IBF 154 lb. champion Fernando Vargas, and heavyweight GIANT Michael Grant.

IVAN WILL APPEAR ON RING TALK TOO!

WW caught "Mighty Ivan" Robinson  20 minutes before Christmas 1998 became official in the City of Brotherly Love at home with his family. Just 48 hours returned from a Mexican vacation, the "extremely" articulate Mr. Robinson talked about the good life, all the while remembering how painful the flip side to that record was.

RT-Congrats little brother. Which one was easier, the first Gatti fight or this one?

IV-Neither. They were both extremely tough. But I got hit with a lot of low blows in this one and my hands a still a little sore from his face, I guess.

RT-Are you on top of your game right now?

IV-I think so. Anybody who followed me from the amateurs, knew I had the ability to be a great fighter. They are calling me a throwback, they can call me what they want. But I've been down before and I know it only takes one fight to be back there. That's why I trained right through the postponement. I spent 12 weeks in camp. Away from family.

RT-Does that bother you most?

IR-Yes, it does. I don't get to see them. And I don't talk to them much on the phone, cause we don't have a phone in camp.

RT-You told me you were 100% physically and mentally prepared for Gatti both times. How do you get in the right mind set?

IR-It's the isolation and the seriousness of each fight.

RT-Would you go to France and fight Jean Baptiste Mendy for the WBA belt, and then have a unification match with Shane Mosley?

IR-It would tough getting a fair shake over there. So, I'd be more than willing to fight him in Las Vegas. I'd fight him in France if the money was right, I'd fight anybody at 135 lbs. for the right money.

RT-I think somebody fixed the scale seeing you, Fernando Vargas, Yory Boy Campas, Fernando Vargas, and Arturo Gatti all came in under weight. Eddie Woods said you were supposed to weigh 135 1/2. You came in at 133 and some change.

IV-I won't say 133 wasn't impossible because I was in great shape. But, we thought we were about 135 1/2. They were going to do anything they could to give it Gatti.

RT-There are a lot of people that think Shane Mosley can't be beaten right now. Comment on that?

FIGHTER OF '98

Shane Mosley is the runaway winner for Fighter of The Year here at
www.fighters.com Although World 130 lb. champion Floyd Mayweather made a late run, but your votes have Mosley up 2-1. Ricardo Lopez and Ivan Robinson were tied for third place.

FIGHT OF '98

That seems to be the first Ivan Robinson-Arturo Gatti fight in August. It was a much closer contests, than the December 12, rematch. An epic battle that will be forever mentioned amongst the knowledgeable.

TRAINER OF YEAR

For the first time in a long time, Emanuel Steward can't claim the Ring Talk annual award. This year it goes to Jack Mosley, the father/trainer/manager of IBF lightweight champion Shane Mosley.

POLYGRAPH TIME?

In an attempt to eradicate my mole(s) within the California Boxing Commission, one higher up suggested giving Lie Detector tests to eight people who may or may not have given me my pass key to the Commission file cabinet.

NO BUTS!

This is the same State Commission that had it's #2 man Dean Lohuis wear a wire (hidden microphone) in trying to oust the powerful Doctor to The Stars! So, don't pit anything past them.

NO FED EX EITHER!

AND there is No Merit to the rumor that I had Federal Express deliver a five pound block of cheese to Dean Lohuis, Rob Lynch, or Jimmy Montoya.
