The WBU enters the final stage of World Title fights before the Millenium, The World Title trial kicks off in Buenos Aires, Argentina, where WBU World Super-Featherweight Champion Jorge "La Hiena" Barrios (Argentina) defends his title voluntarily against Affif Djelti, of France. The fight is to take place in Parana, Argentina, on October 15th 1999.

This will be the first WBU title fight in Argentina, and will be co-promoted by Italian Promoters Spagnoli & Sabbatini. Plans are underway to stage WBU title fights around Argentina.
