Knocked down Archie Moore 3 times in the first round and again in the 5th, in the World famous Light-heavyweight title fight in Montreal Canada, Dec. 10 1958.

Inducted into the New Brunswick Sports Hall of Fame in 1971
Inducted into the Canadian Sports Hall of Fame in 1975
Inducted into the Canadian Boxing Hall of Fame in 1989
Opened the Yvon Durelle Museum in his home, 1994.
