In the scheduled ten round main event 31 year-old Kenny Ellis (163 3/4 lbs) of Seattle improved to 24-3-2, 15 KO's when he flattened 30 year old Tim Shocks (167 1/4 lbs) of Kent, WA with a solid right hand in the third round. A TKO win for Ellis. Shocks' record devolves to 21-10-1, 14 KO's. Also on this card: In a six round heavyweight match, veteran Shane Sutcliffe (229 lbs) of Vancouver, B.C went to 23-11-1, 12 KO's with a split decision over daring Cody Gray (222 1/4 lbs) now 5-1, 5 KO's, of Shoreline, WA. A scheduled six round bout between Mark Woolnaugh (172 1/2 lbs) of Surrey, British Colombia and Nathaniel "Tex" Miles (167 3/4 lbs)) of Tacoma was scratched because Miles' blood pressure was red zone high before the fight. In four round bouts: Lewis Sargeant (169 lbs) of Vancouver, B.C. won a decision in four over Billy Kirwan (164 1/4lbs) of Portland, OR. Kirwan was hospitalized after the bout with a fractured jaw. In a women's four round bout, Laramie Hinostroza (126 1/4 lbs) of Portland via Kansas City pulled out a KO win with a big right hand in the fourth, decking Carla Wilcox ( 121 3/4 lbs) of Tacoma for the count after Wilcox appeared to be outpointing Hinostroza. Light heavyweight debuts, Mario Armando Higuera Gomez (171 3/4 lbs) of Forest Grove, OR stopped Joseph Vannett. (172 1/2 lbs) of ellensberg, WA by TKO in the first round of a scheduled four. Both men were making their professional debut. Paul M. Pendo (146 lbs) of Eugene, OR TKO'd Amaury Bandera-Tissert (151 lbs) of Forest Grove, OR in the third round of a scheduled four. |
