Pladner was a talented fighter who lost only 16 bouts in 134 contests and scored 39 knockouts; During his career, he won the NBA Flyweight Championship of the World, the IBU Flyweight Championship of the World, the EBU Flyweight Championship of Europe and the Bantamweight Championship of France

The "Spider" defeated such men as Frankie Genaro, Johnny Hill, Newsboy Brown, Victor "Young" Perez, "Wee" Willie Davies, Eugene Huat, "Corporal" Izzy Schwartz, Bobby Leitham, Ernie Jarvis, Frankie Ash, Nicolas Petit-Biquet, Maurice Dubois, Shuku Hashimoto, Werner Riethdorf and Jimmy Thomas

Herb Goldman ranked Emile as the #20 All-Time Flyweight
