Carl "The Truth" Williams born.

1971:
Kuniaki Shibata D 15 Ernesto Marcel, Matsuyama, Japan. Retains WBC Featherweight Title.

1972:
Carlos Monzon W 15 Bennie Briscoe, Buenos Aires. Retains World Middleweight title. The fight was slightly closer than the scorecards revealed, 150-139, 149-139, and 149-143. Monzon avenges a draw he fought with Briscoe on 5/6/1967.
