10/16/2003 Archived Entry: "Arum's apology is accepted by Nevada"

Arum's apology is accepted by Nevada

The Nevada Athletic Commission has closed the book on its dispute with promoter Bob Arum over his comments following Oscar de la Hoya's controversial loss to Shane Mosley on September 13.

Commission chairman Luther Mack called Arum's allegations of improprieties in the scoring of the fight as "unfair and absurd".

But he accepted the promoter's apology and said: "As far as I'm concerned, it's over and done with."
