Lacy to defend USBA and NABF titles against Wiggins

Jeff LacyThe Jeff Lacy-Donnell Wiggins bout announced yesterday by Showtime will be for Lacy’s USBA and NABF super middleweight titles.The two meet on December 13 as chief support to Ricky Hatton’s WBU light welterweight title defence against Ben Tackie. Showtime broadcast in America at 10 p.m ET/PT (tape delayed on the West Coast).

Lacy (15-0, 12 KOs), of Tampa, Fla., will appear on SHOWTIME for the eighth time. In his last start, he retained his titles for the first time with a 12-round decision over Richard Grant on July 15 in Beverly Hills, Calif.

Lacy is currently ranked No. 7 by both the IBF and WBO, No. 8 by the WBC and No. 12 by the WBA. He earned the USBA belt with a third-round TKO on Feb. 22, 2003, in Memphis.

Wiggins (20-2-2, 11 KOs), of Covington, Tenn., is the current NABF light heavyweight champion after his 12-round majority decision over Rodney Moore on Oct. 11, 2003.
