Atlas Foundation, Local stars to assist seriously ill New Yorkers to aid Turkey Day
Pugilists on Dec. 6 Madison Square Garden card distribute turkeys at God's Love We Deliver
On Tuesday, November 24, 2003, Gallagher's Steak House and Dr. Theodore Atlas Foundation will donate Thanksgiving turkeys to God's Love We Deliver. Oustanding local boxing stars fighting on the December 6th Madison Square Garden card will be present to distribute the turkeys in a display of holiday hospitality hosted by Duva Boxing. Helping to distribute the turkeys to God's Love We Deliver will be Queens' Monte Barrett, Brooklyn's Paulie Malignaggi, Newark's Kendall Holt, The Bronx's Elvir Muriqi and Queens' John Duddy and Union City's Antonio Espinosa.
Duva Boxing in association with Universum Promotions will present "Heavyweight Collision at the Garden" on Saturday night, December 6, when top-rated heavyweights Vitali Klitschko and Kirk Johnson square off in the main event, and "Baby" Joe Mesi takes on Monte Barrett in the co-feature. Fighting on the card are a number of exciting local products including Malignaggi (15-0), Duddy (3-0), Kendall Holt (13-0), Elvir Muriqi (27-1) and Espinosa (1-0).
God's Love We Deliver is the metropolitan area's oldest and largest not-for-profit organization dedicated to preparing and delivering approximately 2,400 nutritious, life-sustaining meals each weekday, free-of-charge, to men, women and children living with HIV/AIDS and other serious illnesses. Since it's inception, the agency has delivered over 6 million meals and has never had a waiting list. All of the organization's services are provided free of charge.
